What Do We Use a Crimper For?

You do not always need to crimp the whole head. Sometimes crimping only the sections where you need extra volume or support is enough.

Choosing a Crimper

For bridal styling, a small or fine crimper is usually the most useful because it creates texture without making the hair look overly crimped.

The smaller texture can also be easier to hide inside an upstyle.

Temperature Matters

Fine, coloured or fragile hair usually needs a lower temperature, while thicker or resistant hair may need more heat.

Always use heat protection and avoid going over the same section too many times.

Ulyana’s Tip - Think of your crimper as a secret volume tool. You do not necessarily want your client to see the crimping in the finished hairstyle. Use it underneath the hair or inside your sections to create hidden volume, texture and support. A little crimping in the right place can completely change how full an upstyle looks.
