In this lesson, you will learn how to correctly use essential hair styling tools to prepare the hair for professional hairstyling. You will practice straightening, curling with a straightener, and creating curls using different wand sizes and techniques to build confidence, control, and precision before working on real clients.

To successfully complete this lesson and qualify for your certificate:

Practice straightening the hair on a mannequin until the result is smooth, polished, and even from roots to ends.
Practice creating curls using a straightener to understand angle control, tension, and movement.
Work with different curling wand sizes to see how curl shape, volume, and texture change depending on the tool used.
Practice using both clamp curling irons and clamp-free wands to develop versatility and professional control.
Practice holding your tools in different positions—horizontal and vertical—to understand how direction and placement affect curl pattern, volume, and overall style.
Repeat each technique several times until you feel confident and comfortable with the results.
Once mastered, move on to practicing these techniques on real models with different hair lengths, textures, and densities.
